Path: I use the word in its two meanings.

The way is an orientation in the pathless terrain. If a way has been taken more often and by many people or animals, it becomes a path: a hiking trail, a forest track or a road. The village, the city, emerges from several paths and ways. Looking back, I can describe my journeys on such paths.

The path as a basic element to create my illustrations. The path consists of several points and forms an area. It can look like a circle, a segment of a circle, a triangle or a line in different shapes. Viewed as a whole and with the appropriate distance, an image is composed of these elements.

The following examples show various possibilities of how the path constucts my illustrations. Most of the time I use the technique of reduction: illustrating and visualizing complex contexts as simply as possible. Since there is a certain similarity to pictures, a brief pause arises in the eye of the observer when the motifs are quickly glimpsed: picture or illustration? I consciously use this effect.
